What counts as a poker room

Peer-to-peer play

Ask for the variant, cash or tournament format, and exact property. If your trip revolves around a session, a named room and current written conditions matter more than a general casino review. A venue can offer poker without running the game or stakes you had in mind.

House-banked games

Ultimate Texas Hold’em should not be presented as a No-Limit Hold’em cash game between players. Ask who the opponent is before discussing stakes. Similar branding does not make the products equivalent.

Exact CDMX venue

Palace’s general website and English cash page are two references for one operator, not two separate rooms. We do not inflate the comparison by counting them twice.

Cash and tournament formats

Cash information needs buy-in range, house charges and entry/exit rules. A tournament needs a dated structure, fees and registration conditions. Do not use one to fill missing fields in the other. No current tournament calendar is verified in this English release.

Planning a session

Availability

“We offer cash” is not the same as “a table is running,” and neither automatically means a seat is open. Ask what will be available on your date and what could change before arrival. We do not reproduce an operator’s broad availability claim as a personally verified 24/7 session.

Waitlist

Clarify whether a reservation survives after the game starts, whether physical presence affects priority and how long a seat is held. Those details can matter if you are fitting the visit around dinner, transport or a flight.

ID and language

Confirm your particular passport and the help available during the shift. An English web interface does not prove an English-speaking floor manager will be available throughout your session. Use the visitor guide to prepare a short, specific enquiry.

Costs before you sit

Buy-in

Ask for the amount in MXN or another explicitly named currency. English discussions may convert local amounts into USD for convenience; a past conversion is not a current room rule. Your personal spending limit should remain separate from the room’s permitted maximum.

Rake and cap

A percentage without a cap or additional-charge explanation is an incomplete price. The cost guide shows how to read the components. It remains a draft because the required local cost cards are missing.

Published room rules

Palace’s cash rules describe room-specific conditions, including remaining at or leaving a table. Ask which version applies in CDMX before buying chips. We neither endorse a restriction nor treat it as a universal Mexico City rule.

Evidence and updates

Forum anecdotes

Travel reports can reveal questions worth asking: currency, rake, waiting lists or departure restrictions. They are not verified operator terms, even when several comments repeat the same amount. This guide does not turn an anecdote into a current price or a claim about the player pool.

Direct confirmation

Direct room confirmation remains outstanding. Hamburgo’s poker format is also unresolved, so the venue review does not present it as a confirmed cash-game destination. If the session cannot be established, change the plan rather than accepting a different gambling product on arrival.
